Greetings Fellow Drummers!
![]()
What’s up? Jazz Fest was great and I got to play two wonderful concerts, one a tribute concert for Earl Turbinton and Willie Tee. You can view some of that on YouTube.
Daryll Dobson and I have been busy gearing up for this Sunday’s first “New Orleans Gumbo Music Show“. Go to www.solarguitars.com at 7PM CST, and you can log in to the live internet radio broadcast. I’ll be interviewing Bernard “Bunchy” Johnson as my 1st guest, a true New Orleans drummer and actor, and long time friend. We’ll be playing music that Bunchy wrote and performed on from a CD entitled “Wardell & his slammin Big Band”. To see the “Gumbo” schedule, go to www.rickysebastian.com/gumbo.html . It’s gonna be a lot of fun!!!!!
The”The Crescent City Drum School” has kicked off, and we’re in the process of setting up a summer drum camp. It’s great to be teaching again, and we’re both very excited about it. My agent, Emory White, and I are making headway in booking clinics nationwide, so check the “Schedule” page of my site to see where I’ll be performing, giving clinics, and when. If you know anyone interested, please point them to my web site, www.rickysebastian.com .
I’ll also be teaching at the “New Jazz School” along with Donald Harrison Jr., Brian Lynch, and many other great musicians/teachers, so I’m looking forward to that. Please go to www.rickysebastian.com/schedule.html .
Keep those emails coming in with your stories of adversity and I invite you to post comments on this blog for us. I will surely get back to you.
That’s it for now. Again, I encourage all of you to post your stories on this Blog so that you can share it with the drumming community throughout the world.
